Completing the questionnaire takes about 10 minutes. The questionnaire must be completed no later than 3 days before the game starts. We need the next 3 days to create the game for you.

How can I see who has completed the questionnaire?

After booking, you will receive an email with a personalized link to the questionnaire. Everyone who uses this link to complete the questionnaire will be included in the game.

Per team

• One car
• A smartphone with a full battery and sufficient data. The app requires an internet connection to function properly.
• One smartphone is required per team. However, it’s helpful if everyone has a smartphone, so that if one smartphone dies, the team can continue with another.
• We use the free Loquiz app for the game. Install the app before the game starts. (See instructions in the other FAQ)

You’ll need to form the teams yourself. You can do this beforehand or have the players form teams on the spot. In the latter case, it’s a good idea to schedule a few minutes before the game so the players have time to form teams.

1. Fewer players than estimated
We ask you to estimate the number of players beforehand. This estimate may be slightly too high. That’s no problem. If the actual number of players is less than your estimate, you will receive a credit invoice with a refund after the game. We base the “actual number of players” on the number of players who completed the questionnaire.

1.1. Removing player(s) before we start building
Sometimes someone completes the questionnaire but doesn’t participate in the game. If you want this person to no longer appear in the game, please send us an email with their name. We will then remove their responses. If we receive the email before we start building the game, this can be done free of charge.

1.2. Removing player(s) after we’ve already started building
If we’ve already started building the game, you can request up to 24 hours in advance that we remove the player’s name and answers from the already-built game. In this case, we will charge an additional fee of 10% of the total price.

1.3. Players drop out last minute on game day
It’s possible that one or more people can’t participate on the day of the game, for example due to illness. That’s no problem. The other players can still play the game. Please keep in mind that the name(s) and answers of the absent player(s) will remain in the game. At that point, we will no longer be able to edit the game and remove player names and answers.

2. More players than estimated
We ask you to estimate the number of players beforehand. This estimate may be slightly too low. That’s no problem. If the actual number of players exceeds your estimate, you will receive an additional invoice after the game. The “actual number of players” is based on the number of players who completed the questionnaire.

2.1. Adding additional players if the questionnaire is not yet closed
You can simply forward the questionnaire link to the additional player(s), as long as we have not yet started building the game. You will receive an additional invoice for the additional players afterward.

2.2. Adding additional players if the questionnaire is already closed
If you need to add a player at the last minute, while we have already started building the game, this is possible under certain conditions. You can ask us up to 24 hours in advance to reopen the questionnaire. We will charge 10% of the total price for this.

2.3. On game day, players join at the last minute.
It is not permitted to allow additional players to play on game day if they have not completed the questionnaire and therefore have not accepted the terms and conditions.

That depends on what exactly you want to test. You can already open the app to test if it works properly. If the app doesn’t work as expected, check that you granted all the necessary permissions during installation. Give permission for the app to use:

• Use GPS
• Send push notifications
• Use camera
• Use photos

If you don’t grant permission, the app won’t work and you won’t be able to play the game.

Don’t start the game itself yet. If you do, the game will actually start.

Note: The username and password only work 24 hours before the game starts. If you log in beforehand, you will receive an error message.

Yes, that’s possible. It’s possible to have players complete the questionnaire without knowing which game they’ll be playing. The questionnaire won’t reference the game. Players will receive a confirmation email, but it won’t reference the game.

The questionnaire will be located on breakoutbandits.com. Players can read about our games and get a hint about what they’ll be doing. If you want to prevent this, you have two options:

1. Create a form yourself and send us your answers (€100).

• Reserve the game as you normally would.
• You’ll receive a link to the questionnaire. Normally, you would share this link with the players. Don’t send that link to the players now.
• Create a form yourself (for example in Google Forms) with the questions from the questionnaire. (View the questions)
• Ask the players to fill out the self-created form.
• Download the answers and send them to us by email.
• We will manually process the answers in our system.
• Due to the extra work, we charge an additional €100 for this option.

2. Manually collect answers by email and enter them yourself (free)

• Reserve the game as you normally would.
• You will receive a link to the questionnaire. Normally, you would share this link with the players. Don’t send that link to the players now. Instead, send the players an email with the questions from the questionnaire. (View the questions)
• Ask the players to reply to you as the game master with their answers.
• Copy the answers from the emails into the questionnaire. Do this for all players.

The number of players is essentially unlimited. For large groups, there are several options:

1. All players play the game in one large group. With such a large group, you have to think carefully about who you ask to complete the questionnaire. There are three sub-options for this:
   • All players complete the questionnaire. This is possible, but it will likely be quite difficult to get the correct answer.
   • The questionnaire is only completed by the management/board (or similar), and all players must provide the correct answers provided by the management/board (or similar).
   • No one completes a questionnaire, and we design questions specifically about the company, not about the people playing the game. (Note: There’s an additional charge of €100 for personal questions.)
2. Players will be divided into small groups (by department, class, etc.). Multiple games will be played simultaneously. Each game has its own winner. In this case, we’ll create multiple games. (Note: There will also be multiple setup costs.)

That depends on what “last minute” means. We need three days to prepare the game. You can let us know the final number of players up to three days before the start date.

If you don’t know the exact number of players when you book, you can make an estimate. If the actual number of players differs from your estimate, you will receive an adjusted invoice after the game.

Cancellation
You can cancel a game free of charge if you email us your cancellation no later than 14 days before the game starts. If you cancel between 14 and 3 days before the game is scheduled to be played, a cancellation fee of 50% of the game price will be charged. If you cancel on or after the third day before the game is scheduled to be delivered, you will be charged the full price of the game.

Rescheduling

You can send us an email or call us to let us know the new date. Reschedules are likely no problem. There’s just one condition: the new date must not take place within 3 days of the game. We don’t charge a fee for rescheduling the game unless you ask us to add or remove players. In that case, we charge an additional 25% of the total price.

We have two options:

1. Phone support

With this option, you play the game completely independently. No one from Breakout Bandits will visit you.

The game leader will receive an email before the game with the rules, login information, and an activation code to start the game. If players have any questions during the game, we offer phone support.

From our office, we can monitor all the teams’ locations live and monitor the answers given. This allows us to provide detailed support if a player calls and requests assistance.

In this case, a Breakout Bandits game leader will not come to your location. This keeps costs low. When booking, you must specify a game leader. This can be you or someone else.

The game leader has the following responsibilities:

• Ask the players to complete the questionnaire
• Confirm that all players have completed the questionnaire
• Send all practical information to the players
• Assemble the teams
• Start the game

The game leader does not see the game answers, allowing them to combine playing the game with leading the game.

2. On-site Support

With this option, a game leader from Breakout Bandits will come to your location, and we will take care of everything related to the game: we will explain the game, provide on-site support, and ensure you don’t have to do anything during the game.

As a bonus, the players will receive snacks and drinks for the journey. At the end, we will organize a small awards ceremony with a prize for the most creative photo and, of course, a nice trophy for the winners.

Please note: in this case, a game leader from the client is still required. This person must distribute the questionnaires and practical information beforehand. Breakout Bandits will take care of everything else on the day itself.

That’s no problem. It’s no problem if you start a few minutes earlier or later. You don’t need to contact us. If the schedule changes by more than an hour on game day, please call us. We can then adjust our phone support accordingly.

If we start later, will we have less playing time?

The total playing time remains the same if we start later.

Complete a questionnaire beforehand or submit questions about your company. We’ll incorporate the questions and answers into the mini-challenges.

Mini-challenges (triggered every 5 km – every 10 km for the 8-hour version)

1. Question from the questionnaire or about your company
2. Take a photo of yourselves posing with 2 or more cars that match your national flag. So in the case of the Dutch flag: a red, white, and blue car.
3. Take a photo of a street sign and portray the name on the sign as accurately as possible.
4. Question from the questionnaire or about the company
5. Take a photo in which you strike the same pose as a statue you encounter, as if you are part of the tableau.
6. Take a photo of another team, without them realizing it.
7. Question from the questionnaire or about the company
8. Take a photo in which you pose in front of the most beautiful natural landscape you encounter.
9. Make a video of someone letting their hair blow in the wind from the car window.
10. Question from the questionnaire or about the company
11. Take a photo in which you pose with a street sign that is as close as possible to your chosen team name.
12. Take a photo in which you Pose in front of the ugliest car you see.
13. Question from the questionnaire or about the company
14. Take a photo of one or more of you driving the most expensive car possible. The car cannot be your own.
15. Take a photo of your team “disappearing” into the landscape. Make it look like you’re completely blending in by cleverly hiding, camouflaging, or posing as a kind of landscape pattern.

17. Use the car window as a canvas and draw a facial modification for a team member with your finger, marker, lipstick, or something else (temporarily!): a big mustache, a crazy haircut, glasses, or something completely absurd (think: alien antennae, a clown mouth, a knight’s helmet…). Then have someone stand behind the window so it looks like the drawing is part of their face. Take a picture of this!
18. Reenact the famous “Hand on the Misted Window” scene from the Titanic and take a picture of it.
19. Question from the questionnaire or about the company
20. Take a picture that makes it look like you’ve reached the end of the world.

Timer challenges (triggered every half hour / Every hour for the 8-hour version)

1. If you’re driving at a constant speed of 55 kilometers per hour and have to cover 66 kilometers, how many minutes will it take you to cover this distance?
2. You’ll cover 111 km in 1.5 hours. What is your average speed per hour during this trip?
3. You’ll be driving at a speed of 50 meters per second. If you drive for 3 minutes, how many kilometers will you have covered?
4. You first drive 160 kilometers in 3 hours and then another 140 kilometers in 2 hours. What is your average speed per hour over the entire journey?
5. You drive 75 kilometers at an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour. How many minutes does your journey take?

XL Challenge (These challenges are triggered when the teams visit a specific location.)

• Find a vehicle with an interesting license plate and write a limerick using the letters or numbers in the license plate. Record a video of up to 15 seconds in which you all sing the limerick together while standing in front of the car with the license plate.
• Record a video of up to 15 seconds in which you sing your favorite road trip song. The louder, the better! Of course, also make sure you have air guitars, imaginary drums, and other instruments.
• Find a street sign. Using the letters of the street name, create at least 30 other words that appear in the dictionary. Take a photo that shows the following: The street sign, All of you as a group, A piece of paper/cardboard with all the words. Make sure the words are legible. Only legible words score points.
• Take a photo in which as many other people as possible are in the car with you. Only people whose faces (or part of their faces) are visible in the photo count. Make sure there are at least 7 people in the car.

The 8-hour version includes additional challenges.

• Use your horn to honk your team name in Morse code. If your team name has more than 10 characters, only honk the first 10 letters.
• Use the car window as a puppet theater. Record a video of up to 15 seconds in which you and one or more “sock puppets” perform the best joke you know.
• Build an “extra team member” doll from spare clothes and items from the car. Record a video of no more than 15 seconds in which the extra team member introduces themselves and explains why they enjoy being on your team.
• Record a video of no more than 15 seconds in which you run at least 3 laps around the car in a relay race. Each lap must be run by a different person. After each lap, one person honks the horn.
• Make a video of no more than 15 seconds in which you reenact a well-known scene from a movie. The scene should be from a movie in which cars play an important role. Your car should be in it. Clearly state the name of the movie at the beginning.
• Use the car as a gym. Do fitness exercises with the car as a prop, such as push-ups while leaning against the car. Record a video of up to 15 seconds of all team members doing fitness exercises.

Capture the Flag XL can also be played by bike or other alternative means of transport. Please let us know this by email after ordering. We will then adjust the route to one suitable for your chosen mode of transport.

If you’re interested, you should arrange a suitable reward for the winning team. In our experience, eternal fame is a nice reward for most winners.

Yes. You can go through all the answers afterward, perhaps during drinks. That’s guaranteed to lead to a great conversation! You can also take it a step further and use the answers to delve deeper into the topic in a team meeting.

The answers can be viewed in two ways:

1. Via the app
The answers will remain available in the app for a few days.

2. Via a website
All players will receive a link to the website after the game. These answers will remain permanently available. If you would like your data deleted, please contact us, and we will delete it at your convenience.

When booking, you can specify that the game language should be Dutch or English. It’s also possible to play the game in another language, but it will take us longer to develop it. In that case, please contact us first to discuss the options.

Which app should we use to play the game?

The game is played with the Loquiz app. You can download this app for free from the App Store and Play Store.

After booking, you, as game leader, will receive an email with all the practical information, which you can forward to the players. This email contains a link to the app. Want to check out the app now? Download the Loquiz app using the links below.

Note: You need a username and password to use the app. So you can’t do much if you download the app without ordering the game.

Who needs to download the app?
Each team needs one smartphone with the app installed. However, it’s helpful if several people on the team have the app on their smartphones, so that if one smartphone fails, the team can continue with another.

When do we need to download the app?
The game leader will receive an email with all the practical information after they have agreed to start building the game. The email also contains the link to download the app.

The game leader can decide when to forward the email with practical information to the players. It’s recommended to do this well in advance so the players can download the app beforehand.

What are the minimum requirements?
The smartphone with the app installed requires an internet connection and GPS. Please also grant permission for the app to use:

Can we use the app on multiple devices simultaneously?
No. Each team must have one smartphone available to play the game. The game cannot be played on multiple smartphones simultaneously. If there are problems with one phone, it is possible to switch phones. You will receive instructions for this in the app.
