A place to starttaking part again

Do you feel like you’re getting stuck? Maybe school or work isn’t working out, you’re spending a lot of time at home, or you’re simply not sure what you want to do next. At Breakout Bandits, you can start taking part again. You work with others on a real team-building game, bring some structure back into your week and discover what you’re good at along the way.

Want to see what it'slike here?

In one minute, you’ll get a feel for Breakout Bandits, the people here and what we create together.

You work on something that can actually be used

At Breakout Bandits, you and a small team develop a new team-building game. You might come up with ideas and challenges, write stories, do research, design things, build things or test the game.

Everyone can contribute in a different way. You don’t need to be a gamer, know how to code or already know what you’re good at. If your game turns out well enough, Breakout Bandits may actually sell it. That means customers could end up playing a game you helped create.

What can you discoverwith us?

1. Learn new skills

You try different things and develop new skills.

2. Bring structure into your week

The regular mornings on Monday and Wednesday bring rythim and structure.

3. Discover what suits you

You discover what you can do, what you need and what gives you energy.

Who will you work with?

A team usually consists of around six participants. Everyone brings different interests, talents and experiences.

A Game Designer helps you create the game. A Group Facilitator supports you and the group. Together with the team, the Creative Director keeps an eye on where the game needs to go.

We count on you too

You work with others on a real team-building game. Your contribution matters, which means other people can count on you too.

We expect you to make an effort to be there, take agreements seriously and treat others with respect. If something isn’t working, tell us. We’ll work out together what could help you move forward.

You don’t have to be able to do everything. We do expect you to make an effort to take part.

What suitsyou?

You don’t need to know yet which option suits you best. We’ll work that out together when we meet.

Bandits Creation

For about eight months, you work in a small group on a new team-building game. You join us every Monday and Wednesday morning.

Bandits Support

Bandits Support is more flexible and individual. You take on different tasks within Breakout Bandits, matched to what you can manage at that time.

Discover & Design

Get to know each other, discover your strengths, come up with ideas, do research, make choices and develop the first game concept. We use Design Thinking to guide this process.

From Idea to Plan

The concept starts to take shape. What needs to be built? Who takes on which role? And what do we need to turn an idea into a real game?

Build & Test

We use Scrum to develop the game. Participants gradually take on more tasks and responsibility. We build, write, design and test, gather feedback and keep improving the game.

A Real Product

The game shouldn’t just be fun for us – it needs to work for real players too. We test it with others, solve problems and get the game ready to be played.

Launch & Look Ahead

The game is launched into the real world. We look back at what each participant has learned, but more importantly, we look ahead: what could be a suitable next step towards work, education or another place to continue growing?

What if somethingis difficult?

You don’t come to Breakout Bandits because you can already do everything. You may find things daunting, have little energy, feel unsure of yourself or find working with others difficult. If you run into something, we look together at what you need and what is possible. Sometimes you’ll get some extra support, sometimes we’ll approach things differently, and sometimes we’ll encourage you to see whether you can solve something yourself.
